I believe with all my heart that our country is moving in the wrong direction. Congress has completely lost touch with America. Something needs to change.
I’m Doctor Chris Cates and I am a heart specialist and a businessman. I am asked frequently why in the world I’m running for Congress. I believe with all my heart that our country is moving in the wrong direction because congress has completely lost touch with America and doesn’t even care about our values any more. Career politicians in congress are determined to invert our democratic structure rather than serve. Taxes are too high which is stifling business growth and jobs. I believe the government has gotten too big and too out of control and that there is a concerted effort to weaken our national defense.
There are too many career politicians in congress; that’s part of our problem. The American dream should be as real for our children and grandchildren as it was for us and the generations before us. America as we know it is changing for the worse and that now is the time for us to fight for our freedoms and fight for our liberties and fight for our country. I thank God that I have a family that supports me in my goal to represent you in Congress.
I face a point in my life where I can either sit on the sidelines and complain or come down out of the stands on to the field, suit up and get in the game. I am choosing to get into the thick of the game and do my best to serve the people. I believe in God and the value of hard work, and I believe in individual responsibility. Individuals should be allowed to keep the money they earn, rather than have it taken away from them in the form of high and unfair taxes. I believe in personal freedom. I believe that Americans should be able to choose their doctors – to choose their schools – and to choose how they worship.
I want to go to Washington as your Congressman, to serve for a definite period of time, lend my expertise as a businessman and a heart doctor, then come back home and live under the laws that I helped pass. I will work hard to represent your values each and every day I am honored to serve as your Congressman. I would like your support and I would like and honor your vote.
